FBA Studio, an independent publishing imprint grounded in the ethos of Feminist Border Arts. FBA Studio supports research-creation and concept-driven work that moves across and beyond traditional disciplinary and genre boundaries, treating the zine as theory, the book as experiment, and the printed page as a site for engaged scholarly and creative practice.
FBA Studio extends Feminist Border Arts beyond the festival and its other critical-creative contexts by supporting the circulation of research-creation through publications that can move across multiple venues, including zine exhibitions, artist book contexts, and scholarly publication and distribution channels such as university presses.
As an initial project within this framework, Ghost Log: Liner Notes from the In-Between, by Dr. M. C. Jonet was developed as a research-creation publication that produces theory through form. Working as a mode of autotheory, the project integrates critical reflection, media studies, and experimental writing to explore memory, grief, queer temporality, and archival presence. Through its hybrid structure, the work advances theory-in-practice by treating form itself as an analytic method.
